VANS will release a limited edition collaboration with CARPET COMPANY, a skate brand from Borussia, USA, available at select skate shops.
An Iconic Evolution Celebrating Its 1977 Origins
The standout item in this collaboration is the SKATE OLD SKOOL 36, a redesigned version of the original STYLE 36 silhouette. The updated design features single tape foxing on the sides, a thick tongue, and metal eyelets. It also incorporates modern technology, including a shock-absorbing PopCush™ insole and a high-grip SickSick™ outsole.
Adding a touch of luxury, the shoes are crafted with faux crocodile skin. The color scheme remains true to the original yellow and black, and the shoes feature unique details such as Arabic embroidery, an interchangeable shoe tongue patch, and the CARPET COMPANY logo.
To celebrate the birth of old-school sneakers in 1977, only 1,977 pairs of this collaborative design will be released worldwide. Each pair is individually numbered, making them a symbol of the fusion of fashion and skateboarding and a must-have for Vans enthusiasts.
The campaign film and lookbook for this collection explore the question, "What would these icons of skating and music be like if the OLD SKOOL had never been born in 1977?" The film features skating legends like J Mascis, Ray Barbee, Omar Hassan, Tony Alva, as well as Ronnie Sandoval and Zion Wright.
